Alexis Ohanian Co-Founder of Reddit expects Bitcoin to reach twenty thousand by years end. He is not an investor in Bitcoin but invests in the exchanges them self like Coinbase that is building the infrastructure of the future payment meant systems. Alexis also explains that when they roll out web 3.0 this will allow people to browse with a store of value with Bitcoin. This will allow anyone with a wallet even computers to interchange payments automatically without human intervention. This technology will bring the world that doesn’t have access to the financial institution but have access to the internet allowing under-serviced to be serviced and Bitcoin is doing just that. J.P. Morgan Chase, the biggest U.S. lender by assets, posted record second-quarter profit of $8.32 billion so there is plenty of room for the thintech companys to move into this space

People keep asking me what if governments try to ban Bitcoin and crypto they will try but they will fail and this is why there are three hurdles they have to overcome.

Barry Sibert thinks Bitcoin has hit bottom and even when the chair of the Fed saying negative things about bitcoin and does not even affect the price that is a sign it’s bullish. Bitcoin had had 2 80% correction and this correction is about 65% drop from its high. Susan asks the question why Bitcoin and goes into detail about how we transfer the US dollar abroad using swift in itself is complex, but the everyday consumer does not see. Bitcoin is the first time a consumer can make their own entries on a ledger and deal directly with the person they are doing business without a third party. Whoever owns the private keys owns the bitcoin, so anyone can look at the ledger but you are unable to move or have access to your bitcoin unless you have the private keys and the password and an entry on the ledger then you have something of value and do something with it. Authorize the movement to someone else. All bitcoin and the blockchain is a big spreadsheet with passwords.  This is the first time in history we have a purely digital assist.  

What people don’t understand that bank lend out 90% of the money deposited into the bank called fractional reserve lending and the number you see when you log in to your bank account is just a promise to you that from your bank that they owe you that much. But with bitcoin, if you hold the private keys you are the only person that can control the money no one else can lend it out.

Coinbase Launches New Products For Retail & Institutional Crypto Investors

Coinbase just released a new trading platform for retail and institutional crypto investors called Coinbase Pro giving direct access for to institutions. Coinbase also Acquired Paradex allowing you to trade 100’s of tokens in your own wallet currently its available for international clients but not available for the US as of yet. These tokens will be exchanged on a bulletin board, not an exchange.

Coinbase has been reaching out to regulators and they have been contacting Coinbase as well, but still not regulatory clarity as of yet. Coinbase needs clarity to know if crypto is a security or a utility to be able to add additional assets to there platform.  Becuase Coinbase ease of use and the most trusted company that is why they have not added additional assets until their regulators have provided clarity on this asset class.

John McAfee the man who built the first Antivirus program explains that antivirus program software is useless in today’s world and talks about cyber security , privacy and Bitcoin’s future. This interview was conducted in 2017 and gives  a little insight of what is happening to Bitcoin today. Bitcoin is just like Pandora’s box crypto currency is not going away and is a force to be recognized. There are a lot of crypto’s that are Ponzi scheme. He is also made some stupid mistakes in the early days sending and receiving bitcoins to the wrong wallets and losing those funds. McAfee stores his Bitcoins offline on a hardware wallet  with a Trezor wallet even if your computer is infected with a virus your password is stored on the device and no one can see it  except the person that is using the device.

McAfee also thinks that universities will be extinct why learn from a person that has limited information when you have a phone that has the knowledge of the world.
